Career

Having started his career with Walmart in 2001, Kevin has gone on to hold 10 different positions within the company. These include Systems Administrator, Programmer, Engineer, Manager and Staff Systems Engineer. In 2022 Kevin joined Oracle as an Enterprise Architect.

Systems Administrator

  • 2007 - 2009

Kevin was responsible for the systems implementation for multiple store formats (Walmart, Sam’s, Neighborhood Markets) in the US and International.

In 2007 French retailer Auchan sold their Argentine stores to Walmart and withdrew from the country. Kevin was assigned to convert these stores to Walmart’s systems.

 

Systems Programmer

  • 2009 - 2011

Developed and supported Unix imaging and document processing systems. Packaged 3rd party software for deployment. Designed, developed and supported EMC Captiva scanning workflow processes

During this time Kevin was also responsible for providing L2 support for Walmart’s Microsoft SharePoint environments. SharePoint would become Kevin’s focus for the next eight years.

Systems Engineer

  • 2011 - 2017

It was during this time Kevin assumed operational ownership for all of Walmart’s SharePoint environments. Planning upgrades, maintenance and future deployments.

Kevin was also part of the implementation teams for Box, Slack and Workplace by Facebook.

Following a corporate re-organization Kevin would also assume some responsibilities supporting Walmart’s Microsoft Exchange Email environment.

Kevin was instrumental in migrating Walmart to Microsoft O365.

Manager

  • 2017 - 2018

In 2017 Kevin assumed the role of Manager of Walmart’s workstation client team. With 21 direct reports was responsible for deployment and support for 32,000 Home Office associates with over 50,000 devices.

During this time Kevin led the transition to modernize the workstation deployment process to Microsoft SCCM.

In 2018 Kevin lead the initiative to refresh Walmart’s aging Emergency Operations Center systems.

Staff Systems Engineer

  • 2018 - 2022

Kevin brought his extensive platform background to lead the migrations of many brands onto Walmart’s collaboration platforms:

Bonobos - Migrated 1,012 users, 5.1 TB Email and 3 TB Google Drive

Eloquii - Migrated 190 users, 1.4 TB Email

Moosejaw - Migrated 621 users, 2.8 TB Email and .53 TB Google Drive

Hayneedle - Migrated 823 users

Jet - Migrated 3,643 users, 18 TB Email and 30 TB OneDrive

Art - Migrated 419 users, 763 GB Google Drive

Platform Migrations

Joining the Mergers and Acquisitions team Kevin is the technical lead on initiatives to integrate the brands unique technology stacks with Walmart systems.

Provided guidance and technical expertise to Walmart’s acquired, divested and incubated brands

Assumed ownership of Walmart’s G Suite instance.

Enterprise Experience Architect

  • 2022 - Present

In 2022 after 21 years of service with Walmart, Kevin changed companies joining Oracle as an Enterprise Experience Architect with OCI End User Experience Engineering.

Driving the strategy and roadmap in creating a best-in-class collaboration and communications user experience. Responsible for designing and implementing a broad array of capabilities across the endpoint, messaging, mail, web/video conferencing, cloud, and on-premises telephony to serve more than 150,000 employees worldwide.
